PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT FOR THE INHABITANTS OF BRUSSELS

The COVID-19 pandemic may lead to significant psychological consequences (worry, anxiety, isolation,...) because of the confrontation with the disease and because of the public health measures put in place (confinement, prohibition for relatives to visit hospitalized patients, postponement of certain surgical procedures or examinations,…).

This is why, the Psycho-Oncology Centre is mobilising all its forces in order to offer any person (patient, relative, citizen) psychological interventions specific to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our telephone (+ 32 2 538 03 27) and email (secretariat@psycho-oncologie.be) are available to allow everyone to contact a psychologist to seek information, to be listened to, to be supported in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our centre offers psychological interventions by telephone, and individual and group tele-psychology consultations.

You can contact our secretariat on weekdays from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.

Outside these hours and in case of an emergency, you can contact the emergency service "Community Help Service" (CHS) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at the following phone number: 02/648.40.14

Of course, the Psycho-Oncology Centre continues its psychological interventions specific to the difficulties related to cancer and its treatment. Our team of psychologists remains mobilized to maintain support via video-conferencing to help patients and their families cope with the disease and its consequences.

The CPO proposes the following services:

  • Psychological support for people facing the disease
  • Individual and group interventions focused on emotion regulation
  • Individual and group relaxation sessions
  • Accompanying patients who have a sick/hospitalised relative
  • Accompanying patients affected by bereavement
  • Psychological support for children with a sick/hospitalised parent
  • Parenting support in the context of illness
